It takes a certain kind of person to watch the collapse of their world with a smile.
This is the only true test of ones character, as in all possible trials other than this there will be outside influences and pressures attempting to sway the judgement of the individual.
But is it really the strongest who can smile while their life spirals into chaos, letting go of the past in order to embrace the future?
Or is it some kind of twisted weakness which deludes a person into believing that things will be somehow better afterwards?
And doesn't this question make a rather good microcosm for religion?
